1. Pumpkin Centerpiece

Materials Needed:

  • Small pumpkin
  • Sharp knife
  • Large spoon
  • Paper towels or newspaper
  • Small natural wax candles


  1. Cut the top off of your pumpkin
  2. Clean the inside by scraping the seeds and pulp out with a spoon. You want to get this as clean as possible.
  3. Wash the inside with water
  4. Dry the inside
  5. Place a tea light or scented votive inside and your done

This is a fun family project that kids will love doing. Depending on how big your pumpkin is, you can use scented soy votive candles to help illuminate the inside of your pumpkin centerpiece.

  1. Cut the stem off as close the squash as possible
  2. Take a tea light and center it on top of your squash
  3. With your marker, carefully trace the outside diameter of the tea light.
  4. Carefully cut out the circle you have just created. Adjust as necessary so that your candle can sit flush with the top of the squash.
  5. Arrange them around your pumpkin and your are done.
