Centrpieces can bring a table from drab and boring to fun and fabulous. They however, can also get quite expensive. Here are a couple of great ideas for creative Baby Shower Centerpieces that are also inexpensive.
Diaper Cake Centerpieces!
Usually, centerpieces are given away to the guests, but why not help out the mom to be instead! For each table buy a different size package of diapers (newborn, size 1, size 2…). To make each cake roll each diaper into a tube and tape shut using tape that is not to sticky. Place the diapers together to make each layer of the cake, with the larger layers on the bottom. To coordinate to the shower theme, circle each layer with a band of satin ribbon. You should be able to make a nice size cake with 15 or so diapers. For an alternative idea, use a different diaper size for each layer.
If your shower tables are rectangular this is a great idea. Arrange a row of 11 or 13 votives, alternate each votive with a candle and the head of a rose or tulip. Select a flower color that matches the theme of the baby shower. For an added touch, decorate the votive holder with a band of satin ribbon that also compliments the shower theme.
For truly unique centerpieces, gather several pictures of the mom to be when she was a baby. Blow them up to 5×7 or 8×10 and place them in a frame. Order your prints online for the best price, and hit Michaels’s when they are having a sale for 40% off your frames. Attach a few balloons and you have a very unique and nostalgic centerpiece!
For a spring, summer or fall shower, hit up your local Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Lowes for potted flowers! Tulips or hyacinths in the spring, Iris’ or Lilies in the summer, mums in the fall are sure to be a huge hit. Decorate the pot with satin ribbon to match the theme of the baby shower.
