How to Make a Valentine’s Day Center Piece Using Candles

There are many ways to use candles and other materials to create a striking and memorable centerpiece. Here are a couple of my favorites. They are all very simple and should not put too big of strain on your bank account.

1. Mirrored Centerpiece

What you will need:

1 fabric table runner in red or white

1 crystal bowl

12 medium sized candles

A medium sized, flat mirror

Floating candles

Red or white ribbon

Place the fabric table runner in the center of the table. On top of the runner, place the medium sized mirror. Fill the crystal bowl with water, place the floating candles in the water and light them. Create four bunches of candles. To do this, simply combine a few of the candles and tie the ribbon around them. Situate them around the crystal bowl. Lastly, sprinkle a few rose petals on the glass mirror.

2. Assorted Candles Centerpiece

What you will need:

1 heart-shaped glass plate

Assortment of candles in different sizes, shapes and colors

Colored ribbon

Place the heart shaped glass in the middle of the table. Tie ribbon around a few of the candles. Place the candles on the glass plate.

3. Pillar Candle Centerpiece

What you will need:

3 pillar candles of various sizes

A flat mirror

Rose petals or ivy

This is a really simple Valentine’s Day centerpiece. Arrange the pillar candles on top of the mirror. Sprinkle rose petals, or arrange ivy along the base of the candles.

4. Sand Centerpiece

What you will need:

7 red and white tea light candles

Glass bowl

Enough sand to fill the bowl half-way

Fill bowl half way with sand. Place candles in the bowl, on top of the sand.

5. Votive Centerpiece

What you will need:

An hourglass vase

1 large floating candle

7 votive candles and candle holders

1 mirror

A bag of clear stones

Fill the hourglass vase with water, clear stones and floating candle. Place on top of the mirror. Surround the glass and the hourglass vase with the votive candles. If you’d like, use colored candles.

So there you have it, five candle centerpieces that will perfect for Valentine’s Day. All of these centerpieces are simple to create and the materials can be easily found at any crafting and candle store. In fact most of these materials can probably be purchased at your local Wal-Mart. These are all basic plans, add your own twist. Be sure that your personality comes through. Pick candles with your favorite scents. Also consider adding some types of flowers, greenery or a special family heirloom to make it truly unique and special.
